Runny nose, itchy nose and throat, watery and itchy eyes, and sneezing are all symptoms of Spring allergens. You feel miserable and you may also make those around you miserable with your snoring and nasal congestion!
Of course, you can’t help it – An allergic reaction occurs when your immune system overreacts to substances that are usually harmless to other people. These substances, called “allergens”, vary but common triggers include pollen, dust or animal dander.
What you can do to combat it?
It sounds obvious but the main thing you can do is to try to avoid your triggers. For example, try to stay indoors on windy days during spring when pollen may be high; or try to avoid homes that have pets, if that’s what sets you off. Of course, it’s not always easy to live your life this way! The good news is that you can support your overworked immune system with certain supplements, such as Vitamin C, which may maintain healthy immune system function and support your body’s response to allergens.
